Repeat Prescriptions

If you require regular medication please allow 48 hours(excluding weekends and Bank Holidays) before collecting it. 

You may request your prescription:

• directly through this website via our online service*
• send an email to wyicb-cal.longroydescanning@nhs.net. If you send an email please include your full name, date of birth, name of medication and dose or strength.
• complete a slip in surgery

*If you do not have a username and password for our online service, contact the practice to register.  To register, you will need to attend in person and produce identification.

For safety reasons, we do not accept requests over the telephone.

Some local chemists will collect your prescription and dispense it for you.  Please ask at reception for more details. 

Repeat prescriptions will need periodic review by either of the GPs or the practice nurse and you will be given guidance on this.  Please do not ask the receptionist for prescriptions that you do not receive regularly and understand that she is unable to authorise them.

Prescriptions Charges and Exemptions

Extensive exemption and remission arrangements protect those likely to have difficulty in paying charges (NHS prescription and dental charges, optical and hospital travel costs).

The NHS prescription charge is a flat-rate amount which successive Governments have thought it reasonable to charge for those who can afford to pay for their medicines.  Prescription prepayment certificates (PPCs) offer real savings for people who need extensive medication.

Please allow 48 hours, excluding weekends and Bank Holidays, for your request to be processed. Any problems please telephone the surgery.
